With Faith and in Prayer

January 2006

We as Orthodox Christians know that to enter into the New Year 2206, we must be always on the guard and watchful spiritually, and the best way to enter the New Year is with faith, and in prayer.

During the course of the New Year nothing piously is so important for each of us to remain ever faithful to Our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, also to His Church, to the Holy Orthodox Faith we all love, and to earnestly treasure it, as the children of the Church, truly a great pearl we lovingly possess.

We become spiritually rich especially all her faithful loving children: as the teaching of our Faith, our wonderful, holy Orthodox Faith; that has been giving to us an abundance of saints, and holy martyrs, as each one lived according to the Faith. These holy saints and martyrs attained a great spiritual purity and exalted state in which each one was sanctified in Christ our Lord and true God.

Now the earnest question in this for each of us: what kind of life are we going to live the in the days ahead of us now we are in the New Year 2006? Will we acquire the same faith, the same love and the same joy, as did the holy saints and holy martyrs of our loving Orthodox Faith? How shall we deal with all the temptations surrounding us when so many people tell us "it is finished?" It's not finished my beloved friends in Christ our Lord, not finished yet! Our Lord God has allowed us to move forward, and to work on our salvation, just as did the holy saints and holy martyrs of our Christian faith. We still have time and we should use these days in faith, and with prayer, especially when the Church calls us to pray. Attend services at your local Orthodox parish church, witness in the spiritual beauty and magnificence of our Orthodox divine services.

Prepare humbly in prayer to also participate in both Holy Confession and in Holy Communion frequently, and draw near to the Holy Chalice with love and the fear of our Lord God, who loves us all and forgives us poor sinners. At the same time take this mystical prayer home with you that was experienced in Church, and have not only prayer in your lips and in your hearts, but as well faith! In prayer and with faith we shall then endure. Love and pray for your children, and your neighbor, as well as forgive all, and judge no one! Let Christian love be your joy in Christ our Lord for all!

What truly spiritually brings us to the heights of the presence of our Lord God in our lives, is our true Christian love, without a doubt, as it further brings pious unity of the children of the Church, in which our Savior Jesus Christ said: "By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if you have love to another" (St. John 13:35). Let us love one another that with one mind and one heart confess: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Our Lord God shall never abandon His faithful loving children, never! Walk always on the spiritual path of righteousness, and pray that our Gracious loving God shall continue to watch over us all with His love, joy, and His mercy!

A Blessed spiritually rewarding New Year!

May the Lord God, grant you: Many Years! Xronia Polla!

Humbly In Christ Our Lord,

Who prays for you!
