Have You Seen The Christ Child, In Our Temple - Church?
by Father Demetrios Serfes
Boise, Idaho, USA
December, 2000

Beloved Friends In Christ Our Lord,

Glory Be To God!

All of us are getting spiritually ready to commemorate the Birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the year 2000. What a blessing for each of us, as parents, and as children to Glorify our God, in loving Doxology.

Now I would like to ask: Have you seen the Christ-child, in our Temple - Church? The Church we all love, and the Church that we offer prayer and fellowship. The Christ-child is missing! He is only tweleve years old, and He was born in a cave, in the town of Bethlehem. This holy child has tarried behind in Jerusalem, and Joseph and His Mother knew it, as they can't find Him! They have looked everywhere, but to no avail. They sought Him among their friends, and looked among travelers, but they still cannot find the Chirst-child!

Have you seen Him? Please help find Him! Jesus was among His kinsfolk or acquaintance, He was not with those who physically where related to Him... Jesus is not in the midst of the crowd of people... Let us all who are earnestly looking for Him know where to find Him, where do we find Him in the Temple, praying, and talking to the Rabbi, and those who where members of the Temple, learned doctors, and simply asking Him questions. The Mother of God, and St. Joseph the Betrothed have found Him, what a spiritual delight! What a joy! The lost Christ-child has been found! Glory be to God!

Now we too as struggling loving Christians must realize if we really look hard enough we too can find the Christ-child! How? If we look with love, we will find Him now among the holy prophets that surround us in the Church, the holy saints, and the holy martyrs, as well as the holy angels. Glory be to God for all things! Glory honor and worship to our Lord God!

Christ Our Lord is in our Midst, actually watching over us all with His love, and blessing each of us, as He sees us all, and hears us all! The love of God is endless, His love is bountiful, His wisdom is pure, as well as the truth. We find this in our treasured Holy Scriptures, the teachings of the Holy Fathers, and the in the lives of the Mother of God, the prophets, the saints, the martyrs, and the holy angels.

Isn't the best place and the most holiest place for us then to be in the Church praying, and shouldn't we all go to the Church as ofen as possible to look for the Christ-child, the Savior of the world, and to Glorify Him?

If we all look a little harder, and to realize that in our lives we must spiritually struggle, we shall indeed behold Christ our Lord. We can find Him not only with great Christian love, but also with humbleness, and with great loving prayer, as just then we found Him! Glory be to God!

May you and your most beloved ones, have a spiritually rewarding Feast of our Lord's Holy Nativity, and may we indeed behold the Christ-child, who loves us all always!

Christ Is Born! Glorify Him!

In The Joy & Love Of Our New Born Savior Jesus Christ,

Humbly In Christ Our Lord, And True God,

+Reverend Presbyter Demetrios Serfes
A Pilgrim Who Prays For You Humbly!
