A Recent Miracle Of The Tsar Martyr Nicholas II January 1998

Compiled by
Father Nektarios Serfes,
June, 1998.

Now that the Royal Martyrs Tsar Nicholas II and his family will be buried on July 17, 1998 in St. Petersburg, a great deal of current information is becoming available.

Thanks be to God, the following miracle has happened in Moscow, Russia, as of January of 1998, from a paper ikon (also spelled "icon") of the Tsar Martyr Nicholas II which had been painted some time ago with Grand Prince Saint Vladimir.

One truly spiritually rejoices in the Lord our God that this miracle had taken place which proves that Tsar Nicholas II is interceding on our behalf within the Kingdom of our Gracious God.

Translated by George Spruksts from: "Provoslavnaya Rus" (Orthodox Russia" ) No.8.1998.

From the wife (Matushka -wife of a parish priest) of an Moscow Patriarchate priest:

"Recently I chanced to read in "Pravoslavnaya Moskva" (Orthodox Moscow) that in January of 1998, in a certain Muscovite family where the Tsar is very much venerated, a paper icon of Tsar - Martyr Nikolai with Grand Prince St. Vladimir began to exude myrrh.  The priests that had been called in to see it wrote about it to Metropolitan Yuvenalii, the President of the Commission for the Glorification of Saints.

This was three weeks prior to the Hierarchical Council of the Moscow Patriarchate, at which Metropolitan Yuvenalii gave a report concerning an analysis of the materials related to the possibility of canonizing the Royal Family, with a final conclusion concerning the 'unsuitability of the canonization'. It appears that a direct indication from God is being ignored, and yet they concluded everything with the words: 'It seemed (good) to the Holy Spirit and to us...'  There are no words for this!"

The source of this information comes from: George Spruksts, intrprtr@prodigy.net who made the translation from the publication shown above.  I would also like to humbly thank Bob Atchison for forwarding the information about this miracle, and  John Wilson Smith for his kind assistance in the presentation of this web site.
