Father Demetrios Serfes,
presenting certificates for Sunday School graduation

Before proceeding, let me give you some background on the history of this website...

One day a man in a priest outfit walked into the office that I worked at and thrust a disk into my face and said "Can you help me put this on my website?"

So begun my introduction to Reverend Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes (than known as Fr. Demetrios).

At the time I worked at an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that provided dial-up access and web hosting. Rev. Nektarios had been introduced to the wanders of the web and what homepages can do to spread a message. As a result Rev. Nektarios decided to put up webpages of spiritual content. Unfortunately he was having difficulty uploading his webpages to his website. So one faithful afternoon, he marched in and asked for help. Somehow, I was directed to help him. I think he thought that it was a simple matter to resolve this issue. However at the page had serious problems and was not an easy fix (image path problem, relative paths etc).

I quietly explained to him that this process is not that simple and will require some manipulation to the files that he had on his disk. I than proceed to offer my services, for a fee, to help him put his webpages up. Rev. Nektarios agreed to an amount and we decided on a time when I would come to his office and show him how to do so.

Little did I know what I was really getting myself into.

A few days later I met up with Rev. Nekatrios at his office and started to show him what needed to be done to solve the problem. When I started to work with him, I was convicted by God on the work that Rev. Nekatrios was doing. I quietly backed off from accepting any payment from him because I believed that this was the work of God that the Reverend was trying to do and that I shouldn't profit in any way.

So I ended up helping him and ever since that day, have not stopped.

The website has grown from 5 to 7 visits a day to about 500 to 600 visits a day. In 1999, I knew that we had outgrown the shared ISP free web space solution because it lacked critical design and functional tools to help with increase the usability of the website. That coupled with the fact that the Reverend may have been moving, I made a strategic decision to obtain a domain name. Hence was born this website address :

The one thing that I decided was to pay for the costs of hosting this website out of my own pocket. After spending quite a bit of research, I found a good hosting company (tell them you heard about them through or that the referrer is That coupled with the cost of the domain name, I've pretty much paid for this site.

Unfortunately my financial situation does not allow me the luxuries to pay for the site anymore (just had a baby and my wife is not working anymore). As a result I am appealing for financial help in sustaining this website.

My costs is running this website is currently at $19.95 a month (hosting fees). The cost of the domain name is $70 (for 2 years). I am trying to raise just enough money to cover the costs of this website, nothing more.

The amount of donations that I am trying to raise is $239.40 ($19.95 X 12) + $70 = $309.40

I appeal to everyone that can help me support this website for your kind financial assistance. For your convenience you can donate money ether through Amazon or PayPal (If you don't have a PayPal account, click here).

You may make your donation through either of the following services:
PayPalAmazon Honor System *

Amazon Honor System Click Here to Pay Learn More

* Amazon Honor System charges fees. The person making a payment is not charged any fees at all. I will be assessed 15% of the total donation made (per transaction) plus $.15. So, my recommendation would be to use PayPal. However not everyone is familar with PayPal, so I'm also giving Amazon as an option.

Please help keep this website running and please continue to pray for Rev. Nektarios and his ministry

Thank You

Raymon David

May God Love and Bless you all!
