A Prayer For Strength And Blessings For Our Holy Orthodox Church
by Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes
Boise, Idaho, USA
February 2004

Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior and my God: You see me as I truly am, weak, helpless and gripped by sin.

Save me, I pray.

Cleanse my heart and mind of all wrong thoughts.

Forgive me and bring new strength to me.

Let Your light shine upon me so I may be renewed by the grace of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.

Raise me up that I may praise and worship You afresh!

In Your mercy and love, bless our Holy Orthodox Church and all who serve and labor for the flock You have given them.

May their hearts have the same, love, compassion and wisdom as the Great Shepherd, our Lord Jesus Christ.

With my brothers and sisters in Your Holy Church, may I experience the unity of love that binds Your Body on earth together.

Show me, gracious Lord, the talents You have given me so that I play my full part in the life of the Church.

You have placed me as one thread among many, as essential as any other as You weave the beautiful garment that is Your Church.

I pray that you will never allow me to tear or damage that garment, but always contribute to its beauty and perfection, together with Your Apostles, Saints and Martyrs who provide such a holy example.

Through the prayers of our holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us, and save us.

Amen.

Glory Be To God For All Things!
